◆ Yakusugi Cedar
Yakusugi cedar, a natural heritage of Yakushima Island, is one of the oldest and most precious woods in the world.
Only cedars over 1,000 years old are called Yakusugi, and they grow naturally at altitudes from 600m to 1,300m.
These trees are said to possess the strong vitality passed down from ancient forests and the pure energy contained in the sacred land of Yakushima.
Yakusugi wood is an endemic plant registered as a World Heritage Site.
Due to its unique natural environment, the growth rings become denser, making the material harder and stronger. The resin, said to have antiseptic, antibacterial, and insect-repellent effects, accumulates many times more than in ordinary cedar, allowing Yakusugi to live for many years without decaying.
It is believed that owning Yakusugi products can bring various benefits such as protection, healing, longevity, prosperity, and good fortune.
Our Yakusugi products are made from natural wood.
To protect this precious wood, please do not soak it in water or hot water, do not store it in extremely humid or dry places, and avoid using perfumes, as these may cause discoloration or damage.
